WHITE RIVER
The White River is one of America’s biggest Trout Tailwaters & we are proud to call it home. At 100 miles of trout fishing with an average width of 200’ the White River has plenty of room for big fish. It starts at Bull Shoals Dam, where the draw from the bottom of the lake comes out at cool 49-55 degrees year round making this fishery one of the healthiest fisheries in the United States. We have a true year round fishery, where You will experience the best guides, greatest lodging options, superior fishing, and a an amazing time.
We host the longest continual Caddis Hatch (April- May), followed by Sulphers (May – June.) These months offer great small bug Fishing for big fish, light tippet, light rods, and is one of the most popular times to fish the White River system….If you want to throw dry flies you want to be with our guides.
Everyone’s favorite summer activity in the state of Arkansas is hopper fishing… and with most of the White River undeveloped and lined with forests and trees our seasonal cicada / hopper hatch is always superb (June – September). Throw a single foam dry on the bank and watch it get ate from sunup to sundown. This is the White River at it’s best for hunting fish.
In the Winter months the river takes a different tone. Fighting butts dig into our sides as we float down an overcast river, managing sinking lines while lines rips off the reel, ducking in between casts.. “Streamer Season” is a time on the White from October – March where we break out the 8 weights and demand a little more from our casts. Our brown trout start putting on weight for spawn in these months and they will chase down and annihilate any streamer that you put in their way.
Brown, Rainbow, Brook Trout, Snake River Cutthroat, Bonneville Cutthroat, and Tiger Trout are in the White River system
